Introduction to Business

We are currently wrapping up our leadership unit. We will be reviewing and hope to complete the unit and begin our business plan project next week.  This is a comprehensive project that will help us master every standard in the course.  We hope to produce some outstanding business plans; that students will not only be proud of but put to use(in some cases). We will complete our Primetime Television Projects and move on to our 7 habits projects.
The 7 Habits project is an interactive project where the students are introduced to habits
that highly effective people master.

We will dissect  and encourage application of those habits.

Introduction to Business

This week we will be learning about the five sources of power, the universal approach to leadership vs the contingent approach to leadership, and the 3 styles of leadership. The major assessment will be be a choice of product between a prime time television show scripted and role played or a slide show scripted and captioned.

We will begin our unit with a peer teaching activity on covering the theories of motivation.

Introduction to Business

Hello students we are beginning our leadership unit. We will focus on leadership from a business and management point of view. This first area we will cover is motivation.

Introduction to Business

Students are currently completing our unit on communications.  They are creating review games and working on animated chapter review summaries.  The students are gearing up for the first exam on Wednesday the 27th.  We will name our outstanding students for this unit next Friday. Stay tuned.

Monday the 18th we will continue to work in the area of communication.  The students have worked extremely hard to complete there Community Communications Projects.  I want to give a special thanks to my project managers.  Monday we will get to view our initial presentations. We will follow the schedule below Monday.

Opening Warm-up AND/OR Activator (highlight one): Draw a picture showing a manager using the most proper form of communication for resolving a dispute between two of his/her employees. 10 minutes

Discussion and Transition understanding vocabulary helps with both oral and written communication. 5 minutes

Work session:

1. Students will complete a crossword and short answer vocabulary activity   30 minutes
2. Communication game pass right or left- : 15 minutes
3. 2 gourps present communication project
4. Close ticket out the door illustrate the relationship between activities and standard

Introduction to Business

Students will begin a project where a project manager leads a team and plans a community event. The students will be required to meet a strict deadline and work as a team to have the project and presentation ready to present to a group representing city council.(peers)The group will be charged with picking the best presentation.
